Orbit by DCkiq Orbit by DCkiq
So like, I made this here animation of a moon orbiting a small planet and even added radial velocity. My first animated space art ever.

Discovery, please hire me. :iconshaplz:

I love a good space animation, well done.
They're fun to make, seeing this inspires me to make new ones.

You might joke about the discovery thing, but their animations REALLY lack. And are overused.

Cool, what did you made it on?
Next do Yindako or some important planet!
ALSO TEACH ME MASTER.

History Channel's The Universe really likes to repeatedly reuse old animations. Sometimes using the same animation several times in the same episode. Discovery has a relatively new series called How the Universe Works that uses some really good animations and sounds.

The guy that commented above you wants me to collide the moon and planet so that may be my next animation. Then Yindako when I finish its new map.

And for different topics, I have seen the one where two planets collide to explain how the moon was born, how was the Solar Sytem in it's youth, and whatnot.

I have just seen a handful of episodes of that one, so I have yet to get an opinion.

I read that, sounds hard to make realistically. (As in 'not just having them both clip through each other') XD

TUTORIAL TUTORIAL.

They use black holes for EVERYTHING.

It's really all just texturing. If I'm desparate, MAYBE volumetric clouds. It won't loop seamlessly like this one either.

Okay, okay. But it'll be a video since it's easier to make and I've been getting requests to show my face and voice.

EVERYTHING.

Why wouldn't it loop? Because of the clouds, or you mean the whole impact thing? In other news, Russia just got hit by one space rock, the day one about 50 meters big was going to pass by below satellites. (Not the same one, if it was, Russia would be in chaos, as that one was big enough to reach surface), in case you haven't heard. :P

Show your face? But your profile has your picture!

The collision. Orbits are pretty easy to loop. Because, y'know... they're circular. Explosions aren't.

And they must be hard to make realistic (Specially considering mankind has never seen one so we have yet to see how they are in real life)

Again, it's really all just texturing. That and camera shaking will give you some convincing effects.
