Syki (Aurirhynorae) is a class of large land-dwelling arthropods native to Yindako. They are distinguished by three noticeable body segments, four legs, and almost completely herbivorous.

This one is a Gather Syki. It's a grazer about the size of an elephant, living on Yindako's small savannahs and farms. It's known for is elongated snout, ended by the mouth. This is used for grazing on tall grasses and shrubbery, or can be elevated to pick low branches. Its body is lifted high above the ground on tall legs so it can easily see above tall grass. It's a very defensive creature, especially if females have eggs. If they see a predator, they will first try to scare them off with loud shrill whistles. If that takes too long, they will charge. Females have longer snouts and larger, while males sport a brightly-colored vocal sac, used for mating displays and calls.

People farm them for many reasons. When fed discarded Dande foliage, their feces makes an excellent fertilizer on rice and Dande paddies. Their meat is also a staple food and is favored for its crab-like taste and iron-and-protein-rich nutrition. Their exoskeleton can be ground and used and nutritional enhancement to any food by adding calcium. In older times, they were working livestock and a pack animal.
